Can I bring my own firewood?

The Minnesota DNR has put recent restrictions on bringing your own firewood due to trying to deter the spread of several very damaging forest pests including the emerald ash borer (EAB), Sirex wood wasp, gypsy moth, Asian long-horned beetle, and a number of other wood-boring insects, plus decay and wood-stain fungi as well as the pathogens that cause Dutch elm disease, oak wilt, and sudden oak death.  Northern Lights Resort is an approved firewood vendor and we sell large bundles of wood for $6/bundle (plus tax).  We ask that you please do not bring your own firewood to the park.  For more information please click on this link to the Minnesota DNR website:  http://files.dnr.state.mn.us/news/psas/exotic_firewood30.mp3

When is the best time to visit if I want to be sure to see the northern lights?
There is actually not a better or worse time of the year to see the northern lights.  It all depends on a number of factors in order to see them.  A clear night sky is necessary.  They are visible all times of the year, you just tend to see them more in the fall & winter as it gets dark earlier and there is really no way to predict when they will happen.
How can I pay for things while at the resort?

We accept cash, checks and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard & Discover).

Is there a question that we didn't cover here?  Send us an email with your question and we will answer it for you.
